    Re: Airspeed Weight Factor

I just followed the link given above for ESP and found I can buy the thing for a single user as long as (a) I live/work in the US or Canada and (b) have something like a thousand dollars spare. No to both!

Gregory did make some noises a while back about making the old CFS3 flight model decoding posts available again. I expect he's forgotten with the move on to SF2 flight modelling.

Not sure what you mean by "SF2 flight modeling"?  I'm not familiar with SF2, but starting to analyze and edit some FSX AIR tables now.

ANd for Ian...  I meant to say `topics.ยด

    Re: Airspeed Weight Factor

My first and only time in working with .air files was for Eaglesoft's Citation X version 2.

I had a heck of a time reworking it's performance data to get the aircraft to match performance data tables.  The hardest part is that when I input the weight and balance data in the .cfg file... the aircraft wouldn't sit correctly on the runway.  However, we were able to adjust the contact points and get the aircraft to react correctly based on weight and balance.

It provided for a rather realistic behavior in the end. :)

    Hello,

Gregory's forgot has lasted a year! I think he wants us to start from scratch again. Next time I will archive all my and interesting posts. Though I have half of them printed out in 2 file boxes.

Can some one post a whole slew of URLs for Strike Fighter support sites so we can go and straff them with technical questions. Cool

Tsk tsk! I meant gregoryp... SF2 is Strike Fighters 2 from Thirdwire, AvHistory's new focus.

I've only had one tangle with the contact points so far, starting with hand-rolling from Notepad (ho ho ho!!!). A useful tool I read about is ACM for FS8 & 9 (Aircraft Container Manager) which lets you do the job visually. It's abandoned by its developers but can still be found if you look hard enough.
