First of all let me be the first to welcome you to avhistory. This is an excellent site to get all historically accurate Axis and Allied aircraft of World War 2. Sometimes it seems as if you are asking yourself all the questions here, but it shouldn't be a problem to answer your questions. The stock CFS3 in your case, should be re-installed with a 'clean' installation, no addons or anything else yet. When you remove the entire CFS3 directory from your Microsoft Games folder, sweep your hard drive for any known viruses, I recommend personally that you do a disk defrag just to clean up your hard drive of any unnecessary clutter that could be affecting your CFS3 install. Take your time please as CFS3 is a lady that requires much attention, care and love. Take a deep breath afterwards, then start the re-installation of your CFS3. Make sure that it is pure stock to begin with and that there is absolutely nothing else to stop it from installing. After the re-install, go to Microsoft.com and get the Version 3.1 update and all associated fixes for it so that your CFS3 will now be CFS3 version 3.1. Give it a test run to make sure that all 36 stock aircraft are there and flying normally (don't forget to calibrate your joystick as this is critical for good flying!) Then slowly add on your choice of aircraft either from Avhistory or Simouthouse. Avhistory has the better set in my book, more reliable and whatnot. There should be no addons other than what you put into the sim. Even the mightiest graphics drivers cant fool you into thinking you have more than you do. As fo your scenery, it needs the game running properly in orger to be configured. There should be no pea green grass with little distinction. When you run the game, go to the menu on the right hand corner and select image quality and slide the bar to no more than 2 for image scenery. Anything lower or higher will give you unmistakably ugly graphics. I have an Intel core Duo and it does the same if i mess around with image quality. You should remember that CFS3 is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time to addon files and configurations to suit individual needs. You shouldn't be pulling your hair out. Microsoft took care when they made the sim to avoid mistakes like that. You'll have plenty of time for that when you play the Campaign, TRUST ME. I flew over 160 missions with over 30 air kills, 30 ground kills and 12 ship kills on HARD. But as for you my friend, don't worry, take your time and add on as you are able to. Currently I have two Heinkel Uhu's that I love dearly. I waited over a year to get them and now I enjoy shooting up Tommies over my airbase. If I haven't covered everything you wanted to know, my name is Maxfighter and I'll be here to answer you if you need me to. Until then, happy flying mate.
