Re: New (Old) man on the Block

     Welcome!

i'm new also here, though been flight siming for a good decade starting with FS98 and it's cousin on steroids CFS1. I feel left out of the loop, but catching up.

Tombo, what aircraft is that you're in?

    Cheers

Re: New (Old) man on the Block

     Hi Porirua dude,

It's a Hawker Hunter of No. 3 Squadron RAF serving with the 2nd Tactical Airforce B.A.O.R. taken (I think) in 1957. We used to chase Russian migs etc. back over to their side of the East/West German boundry. I spent 16 years in Fighter Command with aircraft ranging from Meteors to Lightnings. Now I fly simulators and RC models, helis and planes, with an RC yacht for the pool when it's too windy to fly.

On the computer I have FSX and CFS3 and several RC sims. I'm currently putting together models of the aircraft of my service life for the ClearView RC Simulator, using AC3D to design the airframes (fully working control surfaces and U/C) and Adobe Fireworks for the texture files. I have the Meteor of 2 Sqdn and a Lightning of 234 Sqdn with reheat ready, Hunter of 3 Sqdn needs finished texture, 2 Sqdn Javelin in final stages, 1 Sqdn Swift and 3 Sqdn F86 Sabre yet to start. These are likely to finish up on the ClearView site for free download. If anyone would like a free copy of any of these PM me with an email address and I'll send them on.

     Hi Grizzybear,

So far I haven't got the details for modelling in FSX, the Sabre will be for the ClearView R/C sim. There are some of my models for that posted here scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Xtearl, always glad to know I have cheered someone up, I thought I was an old man then, now I know I wasn't. Always remember "We don't stop playing with toys when we grow old, we grow old when we stop playing with toys."
