Hello all,
In World War two, what is unknown by some is that German Uboats actually frequented the Caribbean Basin into the Gulf of Mexico. There is a story in my country (The Bahamas) about two British Seamen called Widdicombe and Tapscott (Real names not known at our archive) that had a ship called the Anglo-Saxon that was torpedoed east of the Bahamas during the War and sunk to the bottom of the Atlantic. The two Sailors ( Widdicombe and Tapscott) were found a few weeks later in the form of bronzed mummies aboard a life raft near the Bahamian Coast. I just wish to know, was there ever a ship called the Anglo-Saxon? I Googled it with little results. Is there anyone here that can shed some light on this case?
